Mill House Framing Studio

"Amazing service and turnaround time - couldn’t recommend this place enough!"

Mill House Framing Studio (formerly Spaceframing) was established in 1998 by professional artist James Bartholomew after failing to find a satisfactory picture framing service for his own work. The service quickly expanded, providing frames for many other artists and then to the general public via two workshop/showrooms in Parbold and Standish.

That was 27 years ago and using James’ standards as a benchmark, the business has grown in reputation, now serving countless individuals as well as many commercial organisations, large and small, throughout the North West and beyond.

MHFS serves the whole of the West Lancashire and Wigan area. Consultations at your home or business premises can also be arranged for larger projects (ask for details).

“We bring our enthusiasm and experience to every piece that we frame and pride ourselves on our creative problem solving skills. Bring us your project and let us show you what we can do”.

James Bartholomew RSMA

A professional artist for 33 years, his paintings are shown extensively throughout the UK and abroad. Commissioning clients include the BBC, Waitrose and the Sunday Times. His work can be seen at the gallery in our Parbold premises with a display space of over 2500 square feet.

James oversees all operations and his studio is based within the gallery complex at Parbold. If you would like to see James with any questions or queries while visiting Parbold, please just ask.

All James’ limited edition prints as well as all the frames for his prints and originals are produced by us here at MHFS.

Mill House Framing Studio in Parbold is quite a trek for us but always worth the effort. They spare no effort to help us and the end product is invariably top class. They're a pleasure to deal with and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone.

I've used Mill House Framing Studio in Standish twice now, and i am delighted with the quality of the workmanship. There are many styles of frames to choose from that vary in price, and the gentleman that runs the shop is always helpful and does an excellent job. I would most definitely recommend this place to anyone who appreciates quality and style for their family photos and paintings.

Had a consultation with Jamie as to the best frames for my prints from the wide variety available. Collected them on Friday 9th September 2023 and I’m absolutely thrilled with the results. Highly recommend this lovely friendly gallery set in the most beautiful surroundings. No job too small. Thank you!

I recently had a football T-Shirt framed and a football mounted in a glass box both were excellently done to a very high standard. I have had other items framed and would always use Mill House. Very friendly and helpful staff always happy to oblige
